Join our Community Education Network (CEN) as a volunteer tutor this summer and into the 2026 to 2027 academic year. The CEN is NSEMM's flagship education programme, funding and coordinating free, high-quality tutoring for children and young people who would not otherwise be able to access academic support.
As a CEN Volunteer, you will work one-to-one with young people from families with low incomes or facing other barriers to education. You will help them build confidence, catch up on learning, and reach their potential — at no cost to their families.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit across the summer holidays (July to August 2026) and continue through the 2026 to 2027 academic year. Whether you can give one hour a week or more, every session makes a real difference.
Sessions are delivered online, so you can volunteer from anywhere in the UK. We provide pre-prepared resources, full safeguarding training, and a supportive team around you. You just need to show up, be yourself, and care.
All team members enjoy access to Canva Pro and a range of other premium apps to support both your professional development and personal use.
NSEMM is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
NSEMM is a Disability Confident Committed employer. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria for this role, you are guaranteed an interview. We are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible, and to providing reasonable adjustments.
NSEMM is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.
